iMovie Trailers

After attending the Minnesota TIES conference last year, I learned about how easy it is for teachers and students to make iMovie trailers (part of iMovie, but not a movie project–a movie trailer like you see when Hollywood has movie commercials.)  Here are some of our recent iMovie trailers from this year:

1)We made an iMovie trailer for “I love to read month” of visiting the media center starring Mrs. Cameron.

Our 1st grade reading buddies read their reader’s theater scripts to us and we read to them:

This winter we went sledding for recess:

Here is the order I create the iMovie trailers:

1)  Enter the text for the transitions first.  If my idea is more complicated or if a student is creating the iMovie trailer, I print out these storyboard planning pages:

2)  Add the video clips directly into your iMovie from withing the app using the ipad camera:

3)  To get the iMovie trailers off of the ipad, I save the completed iMovie trailer to my ipad camera roll.  Then I open my dropbox account that I have configured to automatically upload new files from my camera roll.
